A trigram has many attributes below a few of the attributes are mentioned.
Qian
- Represents the head of the family; the father.
- Has the quality of hard metal like an ancient bell, a gong.
- Is a powerful, authorative person.
Kun
- Represents the oldest lady of the family; the mother.
- Has the quality of soft earth like sand, mud.
- Is a submissive person.
Zhen
- Represents the eldest son of the family.
- Has the quality of a strong tree like oak or banyan tree.
- Is strong and aggressive by nature.
Xun
- Represents the eldest daughter of the family.
- Has the quality of grass, a vegetable garden.
- Is demure and soft by nature.
Kan
- Represents the middle son of the family.
- Has the quality of water, river, stream.
- Is mentally agile and internally strong.
Li
- Represents the middle daughter of the family.
- Has the quality of fire, sun.
- Is beautiful and bombastic.
Gen
- Represents the youngest son of the family.
- Has the quality of hard earth like stones, mountains, pebbles.
- Is laid back and peaceful in nature.
Dui
- Represents the youngest daughter of the family.
- Has the quality of small metal like nails, pen knives, pens.
- Is talkative and happy in nature.
Note: The attributes stated here are a basic guideline to understand the quality and nature of a trigram. This does not constitute the entire list of attributes but is to be regarded as a basic guide to understanding the trigrams.
