How to take measurements (III)

In apartments it is important to take the directions of your unit as well as the whole building.
Follow the steps mentioned below.
- You will require the floor plan to be drawn to scale.
- Draw two diagonal lines to find the center of the house. Point A given in the diagram below marks the center of the building.
- Stand at the center of the building.
- You have to divide the floor plan into 8 halves. (see diagram above).
- The eight directions will be divided as
North - 352.5 degrees to 37.5degrees
Northeast - 37.5 to 82.5 degrees
East - 82.5 to 127.5 degrees
Southeast - 127.5 to 172.5 degrees
South - 172.5 to 217.5 degrees
Southwest - 217.5 to 262.5 degrees
West - 262.5 to 307.5 degrees
Northwest - 307.5 to 352.5 degrees
This will help you in knowing the location of each unit separately, lift, stairways etc.
Remember to keep the compass on a flat surface and away from electrical as well as magnetic interference.
