Adjusting the floor plan to get the location of the main door, rooms, windows and other doors is important. It is important to note that the direction of the door maybe North but it might be located in the Northeast portion of the house.
Follow the steps given below to find the location:

- Stand at the center of the house and point the compass towards the main door.
- After having taken this measurement you can divide the floor plan into 8 halves. (see diagram above).
- The eight directions will be divided as
North - 352.5 degrees - 37.5degrees
Northeast - 37.5 - 82.5 degrees
East - 82.5 - 127.5 degrees
Southeast - 127.5 - 172.5 degrees
South - 172.5 - 217.5 degrees
Southwest - 217.5 - 262.5 degrees
West - 262.5 - 307.5 degrees
Northwest - 307.5 - 352.5 degrees
This will help you in knowing the location of the main door, rooms, other doors and windows.
- Incase portions of the house is missing due to architectural design then that portion is counted as missing. (See diagram given below)

In this diagram the Northeast portion of the house is missing. Also note that the main door is located in the Southwest portion of the house and door is facing towards the South.
To be continued.
