Yijing - an introduction Part II

In Chinese metaphysics there are various tools to foresee and predict the future accurately. One such tool is 'yijing'.

In the previous part of the article I had written a brief history on yijing and an introduction to the "Book of changes - Yi".

In this part I shall emphasize on the usage of yi jing as a decision making tool.

YIJING - DECISION MAKING TOOL
It is the decisions that we make today which shape our tomorrow. If it is a right decision then we enjoy the fruits however if we make a wrong decision then we bear the brunt of it. Yi jing is one of the various metaphysics tools that can help a person make the right decision.

How do we use yijing in decision making process?
Let me cite an example- a young, bright and smart lady working in the corporate world was frustrated because her talents were going to waste and she was not getting properly compensated for her job. She wanted to know what should be her course of action - should she quit her job or just wait?

After casting the coins the lines in the hexagram read as such - A) she was soon going to be promoted however there would be little difference in her remuneration but she was going to get a high and busy post. B) Outside opportunities were not there. C) The job was supportive of her and she would be happy in it. After stating these to her she decided to stay in the same job.

Just like the yi jing predicted within 20 days she got her promotion, there was not much difference in the financial package however she was given a high and busy post, she was the youngest person in her organization to get that particular post. She was definitely happy regarding the decision she made.

There are several similar cases where yi jing has helped a person make the right decision. It can be used to know about -

  • career/job changes and its outcome
  • business outcome
  • relationship outcome
  • litigation outcome
  • wealth forecast
  • knowing health issues
  • predicting the stock market
  • feng shui of a property.

If yijing is correlated with the bazi of a person, it can provide an insight into immediate problems and its outcome. Not only does it guide a person in the current situation, it foretells the future and gives instruction on what to do or not to do, how to turn an adverse situation around, when it is favorable to move and when should one not move at all.
