Every year the location of the wealth stars changes. I call it the wealth stars so that it is easy for everyone to understand. It is also called the wang qi and sheng qi. The year of the Earth Rat (Wu Zi) begins on 4th Feb 2008 and ends on the 4th Feb 2009. This year the wealth stars are located in southwest and east.

What does it mean when I write that wealth stars are located in these areas. It basically means these areas are auspicious for this year and should be used as often as possible.

East - #8 white star
67.5 - 112.5 degrees
The east this year is host to the #8 white star. The #8 white star is auspicious, timely and useable. The #8 white star is known as the wealth star for period 8 (2004 - 2024).

The #8 star by nature is yang earth and east (zhen) palace is yang wood. According to wuxing theory the qi in this area is disruptive. But according to he tu numerology this is an auspicious combination in the eastern sector. A word of caution this area will be unsuitable for young children especially males.

To reap the benefits of the #8 white star you need to keep this area active by using it as often as possible. If this is not possible then at least open the windows in this area and let the good qi flow in.

The #8 white star amongst other things represents wealth, name and fortunes. The configuration of stars indicates authority, power and wealth for people using this area.

According to the houses flying star natal chart an enhacer can be placed in this area. Red colored objects woud be a suitable enhancer.

Southeast - #9 purple star
112.5 - 157.5 degrees
The southeast, this year is host to #9 purple star. The southeast is being visited by two auspicious stars - "scholar" and the "year branch virtue", portion of the southeast (142.5 degrees - 157.5 degrees) is afflicted with the inauspicious san sha

The #9 purple star by nature is yang fire the southeast (xun) palace is yin wood. The #9 star is a neutral, timely, auspicious star that represents future prosperity. A neutral star brings in auspicious results if it is with other auspicious stars and can bring in misfortunes if it is with other inauspicious stars. Therefore, a lot depends on your houses natal flying star chart. Any form of sha qi located in this area could be an indication of fire hazards.

The attributes of the #9 purple star are beauty, glamour, brilliance, spirit, anger (hot headedness), aggressiveness, culture and advancement. The configuration of stars indicates intelligence and knowledge. This area will bring success in your work. On the negative side it could promote unusual sexual relationship between women.

How to activate the wealth stars -

  • You could try to locate your bedroom/office/study in these areas. You should try to use these areas as often as possible.
  • You could make the area active by placing an aquarium or a small fan/radio/TV. Open up the windows in this area and let the good qi flow in.

Author's note - Please be reminded that this advice is based on the annual stars and doesnot take into account the monthly stars, life gua, house facing etc. The effects you might feel may vary from person to person, and from house to house.
