Over the past few months I have written about various applications of the bazhai formula. In my articles I have included different methods used by contemporary masters. This month I continue with the series on how to apply the bazhai formula to get the optimum out of your study or home office.
In bazhai it is important to understand the difference between location and direction. Directions are derived from a person's gua number (to know your directions click here) whereas locations are derived from the house. Correct blending is required, relying on one and not following the other will be harmful.
Rule 7 - locating the study
The study or home office is an area which is used for work or business. Different masters have different opinions on the location of the study.
7.1 - Most contemporary masters agree that the study should be located in the fu wei area of the house. For e.g. if your house is sitting north then the fu wei location of your house would be north. If you conduct business from your home office then it would be the nature of the business that would define the location you have to use, for e.g. doctors or medical practitioners should try to locate their chambers/offices in the tien yi area of the house.
Observation -
To put any area/location/room in use it is imperative to understand the kind and quality of qi in the room. The energy of fu wei is stable and therefore will help a person to increase focus and concentration during work.
7.2 - A few contemporary masters say that the fu wei area according to the personal gua formula should be used to locate the study. For e.g. if you were gua 2 then you should locate your study in the southwest location of your house.
7.3 - If you cannot locate your study in the fu wei area then you can use any of the four auspicious locations in the house according to the house gua formula.
Rule 8 - placing the desk
It is important to note that placing the desk in the correct location and you facing an auspicious direction (according to personal gua formula) is important.
8.1 - Most contemporary masters agree that the desk should be located in the fu wei area of the room and face the fu wei direction according to the personal gua formula. This is easy if your personal auspicious direction matches that of the auspicious locations of the house.
Example - You are gua 9 and your fu wei direction according to personal gua formula would be south and your house sits on the north making north the houses fu wei location. Therefore you could locate your desk on the north and face the south. Illustration given below.
8.2 - You can place your desk in the sheng qi or fu wei sector of the room and face any of your auspicious directions.
Example- you are gua 9 and your office is located in the south (fu wei) room and your desk is placed in the south (fu wei) sector of the room. When you sit on your chair you face north which is your yen nien direction (according to personal gua formula). Illustration given below.
Before I end this month's bazhai article I would like to add that in my few years of experience I have observed that it is what the person needs that matters and not what he/she wants. In other words if a person is going to have communication problems this year then using the yen nien direction for desk facing would be good. To know the kind of luck you are going through it is essential to get your bazi (four pillars of destiny) analyzed.
Next month locating toilets, stores and internal pathways (corridors).
