Eight houses school (Ba zhai pai) is one of the basic formula in feng shui. It is like learning the alphabets but alphabets are important.
In Ba zhai the gua number is used to derive the four auspicious and inauspicious location of a house and direction of a person. In this article I am writing about the auspicious and inauspicious locations of the house. For easy understanding I have divided this article into two parts.
How can you use the Eight Houses formula for your benefit?
The Eight Houses feng shui formula gives the four auspicious and inauspicious location and direction of a person. What do we do once we derive the directions and location?
It is essential to know the difference between location and direction. Location represents the area and direction represents where one is facing. In case of bed head - facing would mean the direction of the head of the person or the direction towards which one would place the back of the bed, so that when you lie down the direction your head points towards is an auspicious direction.
For example in the diagram given above, the standing person is represented by X and the arrow represents the direction he is facing. Therefore he is located in North and facing the South.
The formula

Once you know your house sitting location you can refer to the chart below and find out the auspicious locations of your house.
E.g. For house sitting South (172.5 - 217.5 degrees) rooms located in east, southeast, north and south area are auspicious.
Different auspicious areas have different purposes. For better understanding I have written a few lines about each of them.
A1 - Sheng qi - Sheng qi basically indicates life giving force. Sheng qi location/direction can be used to attain wealth luck and authority. It also ensures business success. This location can be used to gain political power, business success, wealth luck and fame. It can be used for business men, entrepreneurs and politicians. This direction can be helpful in attaining children and leading a healthy life. This area is good for wealth.
A2 - Tien Yi - Tien Yi means heavenly or celestial doctor. This location/direction can be used to cure illness. It pertains to making a person wealthy. This direction enables a person to have the talent in curing sickness and blesses the person with healing powers, can be used by doctors and healers. Using this location/direction ensures that people always help you out and that you lead a healthy and long life. If health is your concern then this is the location/direction to use.
A3 - Yen Nien - Yen Nien means longevity. This location can be especially used for relationships, for harmony between husband and wife. This direction ensures good networking skills and enables a person to acquire wealth through his inter-personal skills, can be used for PR, marketing managers, human resource managers and personnel. It promotes goodwill and harmony amongst family/staff members. So if family disharmony is your problem this is the location/direction to use.
A4- Fu wei -Fu wei means lying down position. It is for general prosperity, can be used for personal development and studies. It promotes clear thinking and increases a person's ability to concentrate on his/her work. A person using this location/direction will never face problems. It is a good direction for maintaining one's position and taking administrative decisions can be used for administrative managers, analysts, research and development managers and personnel.
